If you're new to French press coffee, don't be intimidated: it's easier than it looks to get amazing results and a bold, rich cup of coffee from a Bodum French press. You'll want to use fresh, coarse-ground coffee and not-quite-boiling water. Stir the two together in the French press using a wooden or plastic spoon. Put the lid on without pushing down the plunger, and let the coffee brew for 8-10 minutes, depending on the desired strength. Slowly push the plunger down and serve your fresh, perfect coffee.

If you don't serve all of the coffee immediately, consider transferring it to a thermal carafe to preserve the taste, rather than letting it sit in the same vessel as the grounds.
