Our cooking school is located in the heart of our retail store in historical downtown Duncan, Oklahoma. Discover the joy of using quality cookware, kitchen utensils and eating fine foods in our fully equipped Viking Kitchen.
Watch and learn from a number of superb local cooks, local and regional chefs and one of the owners of Distinctive Decor. We also offer cooking classes to private parties up to 12 participants. Come and join us and have a great time!
Sign up quickly for our scheduled classes; class enrollment is limited to 12 participants. Because our classes are small we cannot accept reservations for our cooking classes without prepayment. Reservations can be made online, by phone or in our store.
|Cooking with Marcus: Vietnamese Pho, 4/10/14, 6pm|
Back by popular demand! Marcus shows you how to make traditional Vietnamese Pho, a simple, yet versatile soup that is spicy, exciting, and always fresh. Participants will also be invited to roll their own spring rolls.
|Cooking with Marcus: Calzones and Stromboli, 4/22/14, 6pm|
Ready to take your Family Night to the next level? We'll show you how to make delicious Calzones and Strombolis at home, using fresh ingredients you choose yourself. Participants will be invited to try their hands at shaping and filling dough, as well as the finer points of using a pizza stone and peel to bake.

Everyone loves Mexican food, but it's not always easy to translate tasty Mexican to healthy vegan. Marcus has two dishes that will send your taste buds on a trip south of the border without compromising your commitment to healthy, fresh cooking! Whether you're a committed vegan or just want to try a little healthier way to fiesta, you'll love the Vegan Posole and Tempeh Tacos. Marcus will also demonstrate how to make vegan sour cream out of cashews! Don't miss this unique take on a perennial favorite.
|Cooking with Marcus: Homemade Pasta Two Ways, 5/1/14, 6pm|
Still don't know how amazing fresh pasta is? This class will make you a convert! Marcus will demonstrate the proper way to make fresh pasta using the extruder attachment for the KitchenAid stand mixer, which eliminates the rolling step in pasta-making and creates tubular pastas like penne and rotini. You'll also see how to make two fresh and exciting pasta sauces that you can easily make at home.
|Panko-Crusted Chicken with Lemon-Caper Beurre Blanc, 5/8/14, 6pm|
Beurre Blanc is a white butter sauce that should be part of every cook's repertoire. Elizabeth will show you how to make this staple, with a twist of lemon and the tang of capers. It's the perfect accompaniment to crisp panko-crusted chicken medallions. You'll love this special recipe!

It's not often we get invited to tuck a napkin in and eat with our hands; welcome to the party! Our Low Country Shrimp Boil includes spicy sausage, corn on the cob, potatoes, and shrimp served in a come-as-you-are, family style.
