Jars ceramics is named after its founder, Pierre Jars. Jars ceramic designers have an affinity for turning a mundane, every day piece of dinnerware and transforming it into a fine work of art for your table top. All pieces are meticulously hand made or hand-thrown by expert ceramists in south France. So much so, that most pieces have most likely been in the hands of no less than 17 of Jars highly-skilled ceramists. Each piece must qualify to be sold.
Jars Ceramistes ceramics are vitrified, this means that they are fired at extraordinarily high temperatures - up to 2340 degrees Fahrenheit - which fuses the glaze to the clay producing a scratch-resistant, chip resistant and non-porous piece of dinnerware. Jars ceramics are unparalleled in their durability. Vitrification also classifies Jars products as stoneware.
What sets Jars apart from other stoneware manufactures is their use of reactive glazes that are reminiscent of animal, vegetal and mineral substances. The unique glaze finishes are breathtaking and no finish is completely alike. Some glazes produce a rain effect on the surface with many colors in the same palette showing through, while others create a crackled or even textured appearance that is completely non-porous.
Use Jars ceramics every day; they are elegantly casual! Bring European feel and ambiance to your table or home's decor with Jars Ceramistes, France. All pieces are hand made in France and are microwave and dishwasher safe and scratch and chip resistant.
