Berti kitchen knives represent the upper echelon of knives in quality and fine craftsmanship. Each Berti knife is completely handmade from start to finish by the same skilled knife maker. That knife maker will carve his or her initials into the blade. Coltellerie Berti has been making knives that same way since 1895. They carry on traditional knife making because they believe in the superiority of the finished knife and tradition of their craft. While Berti knives are not inexpensive, you are sure to get a highly functioning, sharp and well-balanced kitchen knife that will make the processes of chopping and slicing more enjoyable affairs.
Each knife is forged, shaped, sharpened, polished, handled and riveted by hand. The steel Berti uses in all their knives is an equal mix of steel and carbon (420b), which supports a beautifully sharp cutting edge and resists rust. You will notice that each blade is stamped by the knife maker who made the knife. Due to their hand-made stature, each Berti knife is an heirloom that will be passed from generation to generation.
Berti offers 5 handle styles: Ox Bone, black Lucite, and red, white and black riveted Lucite. Ox bone and black Lucite handled knives feature an anchored tang while the red, black and white riveted Lucite handled knives feature a full tang. Whichever handle style you choose, you will immediately notice the balance and comfort of the knife as it rests in your hand.
We offer the Insieme line of knives here. Each knife is sold with its magnetized block that fits it. As you purchase more Berti Insieme knives the blocks will stick together with powerful magnets inside them creating the look pictured. The blocks may stand upright on your counter or lay down in a drawer. The blocks offer a unique storage solution that also protect the blades.
