Bordallo Pinheiro Vista Alegre Majolica Dishes
Bordallo Pinheiro dishes are the designs of 19th century Portuguese artist and cultural influencer, Raphael Bordallo Pinheiro (1846-1905). Pinheiro is known for his humoristic drawings, caricatures, cartoons and ceramic creations. He became famous during his career for popular, well-recognized images and was awarded gold medals for this ceramic work in numerous international exhibitions. The company is now owned by Grupo Visabeira who work to ensure productive and historical continuity of Bordallo Pinheiro ceramic works, producing quality majolica at fair pricing. Many of the original molds are still in production, but the firm continues to add new patterns and designs to their tabletop line-up. Bordallo Pinheiro remains a unique producer of tableware in a field of modernity, offering a grand addition to design while remaining affordable. All Bordallo Pinheiro products are suitable for the microwave oven unless they have metal or wooden accents. Products should not be empty when used in a microwave and should be handled carefully as they may be hot. All of the products are dishwasher safe. It is recommended that items be removed promptly when the cycle is complete. Bordallo Pinheiro products should not be used in a conventional oven and you should avoid great thermal variations in temperature.
