Route 66 is part and parcel of every trip my folks took during that fabulous 50s decade! We traveled from Santa Monica to Oklahoma City so many times my brother and I knew every stop and souvenir shop along the way. We thought of the El Rancho Hotel in Gallup and the Rt. 66 Motel in Amarillo as our other homes.
